About Our Proposals

Use the interactive map below to explore the proposals in more detail, including the planned new homes, community facilities and green spaces that will form part of the development.

We have carefully considered the opportunities and constraints of the site when developing our proposals. The interactive masterplan above outlines our initial thoughts on where the housing, school and nursery, open space and ecology areas could be delivered in response to the key influences.

The proposals include 550 new homes (including affordable housing) ranging from one to four bedrooms, catering to children of residents who want to become first-time buyers, growing families and downsizers that want to stay in the area. Our homes are specifically designed to be in keeping with Chattenden’s existing character and to complement the existing area.

A hybrid planning application will be submitted, with Full planning permission sought for Phase 1 in the southern part of the site. Phase 1 will comprise approximately 220 new homes including affordable housing and the children’s nursery. Planning permission for the remainder of the site will be sought in Outline, seeking agreement for the general principles but not the detailed design at this stage.

In addition, a range of community infrastructure is proposed in the form of a new 2FE primary school,  children’s nursery and open green spaces including play areas. A large, dedicated biodiversity area will be provided in the northeast corner of the site.
